Moonshine Sweet Tea is excited to be the exclusive beverage sponsor of the “Rock the Red Kettle” two-day fundraising effort benefiting the Salvation Army.
Cory Morrow will be performing a special concert on Sunday, November 20 with several of his headlining friends as part of his continued fundraising efforts for The Salvation Army Austin Area Command, which serves Travis and Williamson counties. Presented by KOKE FM, the third annual Rock the Red Kettle ATX will be held at the beautiful LifeAustin Amphitheatre in Austin, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. New this year is the Rock the Red Kettle ATX Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament to be held Monday, November 21, hosted by former PGA tour professional, Joe Ogilvie. Joe and other celebrities from the PGA, professional sports and the Texas country music scene will join each team for the tournament.
Both the concert and the golf tournament will benefit the growing number of local women and children experiencing homelessness who seek emergency shelter and support services from The Salvation Army, which ultimately helps them move beyond their immediate crises toward self-sufficiency. According to Salvation Army Austin Area Commander, Major Andrew Kelly, more than 70 percent of people in Salvation Army shelters are women and children, and more than 500 women and children are on a waiting list for emergency shelter on any given day.
Moonshine Sweet Tea will provide delicious, fresh-brewed Ready-to-Drink product to those attending the concert and to participants in the celebrity golf tournament the following day. Pro-golfer Andrew Landry will be a member of the Moonshine Sweet Tea golf team playing in the Rock the Red Kettle ATX Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament.
Sponsorships are still available and all concert and golf proceeds go directly to The Salvation Army, which directs 83 cents of every dollar donated to services for those in greatest need in Travis and Williamson counties. Individuals can also support the mission through concert ticket purchases, opportunities to interact with the performers and autographed items such as guitars. The concert will feature a silent and live auction. In addition to Moonshine Sweet Tea, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers will provide food on site.

The site will be updated throughout The Salvation Army’s 2016 holiday season with additional performances at red kettles in the community, featuring Morrow and other local talent – from high school musicians to individual performance artists.
