Everything’s bigger in Texas including footraces and the CAP 10K race held in Austin on Sunday, April 23, proved to be the biggest race to date with 22-thousand people taking part in the 6-point-2 mile run.
Moonshine Sweet Tea was a featured vendor in the HEB Hospitality Area where more than a thousand runners stopped by after completing the race to cool off and enjoy some healthy refreshments. The vendors who were selected, including Moonshine Sweet Tea, reflect the “healthy living” choices that HEB provides its customers.
“Moonshine Sweet Tea would like to congratulate everyone who completed the CAP 10K race,” said CEO Remmy Castillo. “As a company, Moonshine Sweet Tea welcomes the opportunity to support and be part of an annual event that encourages healthy lifestyles and physical activity among men and women of all ages.”
The CAP 10K is now the largest 10K race in Texas and the 7th largest in the nation. It began in 1978 with 3-thousand runners competing and it continues its tradition of encouraging participants in costumes, parents pushing strollers and supporters cheering on runners along the race route. The race also names a non-profit organization to benefit from the event. This year’s beneficiary is the Austin Parks Foundation which helps maintain and improve the city’s parks, trails, and green spaces.
