(November 13, 2017) Moonshine Sweet Tea has presented a $10,000 check as it becomes a new, major national sponsor of Comfort Crew. The Austin-based non-profit organization accepted the donation at an event celebrating its tenth anniversary of providing programs and resources for military children and their families.
“Moonshine Sweet Tea recognizes the personal sacrifices made by the children and families of our nation’s service members,” said Moonshine Sweet Tea CEO Remmy Castillo. “Our company and customers welcome the opportunity to support Comfort Crew in its mission of strengthening military families.”
Military families were among the honored guests as Comfort Crew hosted its Kick-off Party before the Boots and Birdies Charity Classic, the organization’s largest annual fundraising event. The celebration began with a dinner, live music and silent auction Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Bee Cave, Texas. The event continued on Monday, November 13, 2017 as military members paired with celebrities for a great day of golf at the nearby Falconhead Golf Club.
“Funds raised in the Boots and Birdies Charity Classic will make it possible for us to provide comfort kits and specially created programs aimed at helping military children and families as they face deployment, reintegration, injuries and loss,” said Ronda Englander, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Comfort Crew. “We’re grateful to Moonshine Sweet Tea for underwriting the cost of our event with a $10-thousand dollar contribution.”
