For most Americans who are getting ready to enjoy next week’s Thanksgiving Day holiday whether their plans include watching football and parades on TV, cooking and eating turkey and all the trimmings or searching for big savings during Black Friday shopping.
But for the members of the Vandegrift High School baseball team – plans for the holiday meant doing good for others. The students of the Leander School District launched a fundraising effort to buy ham dinners and all the trimmings for families of the Boys and Girls Club of Austin. Moonshine Sweet Tea was happy to provide the beverages to complete the meal. The team members greeted the families and high-fived the kiddos who attend Galindo Elementary School in South Austin. From the smiles on their faces and from their genuine words, it was very gratifying for the team to know how much the holiday meals are appreciated. This is the first year for the Vandergrift High School Baseball team to carry on this good deed, but the boys are already hoping for a repeat win next year!
As we pause to remember what we are thankful for, we at Moonshine Sweet Tea give thanks for our customers and for the many non-profit groups that partner with us to make our communities a better place for all.
Happy Thanksgiving!
