As Americans get ready to fill their real and virtual shopping carts on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Moonshine Sweet Tea is asking its customers and friends to participate in Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. This is the sixth year that citizens around the world are being asked to pick a charity – any charity – and donate for no other reason than it feels good to give to others who are less fortunate. According to the website – the concept of Giving Tuesday began with the hashtag in 2012 and “…has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.”
Moonshine Sweet Tea echoes that sentiment. “Our business plan has always included supporting children’s charities and other non-profit organizations,” says Moonshine Sweet Tea CEO Remmy Castillo. “We also contribute to other fundraising efforts year-round and agree that the holiday season is the best time for everyone to join us by spreading the goodwill message of Giving Tuesday.”
As you sip on your favorite flavor of Moonshine Sweet Tea, please consider a donation on Giving Tuesday to any of the charities that continue to help our neighbors in the Houston and Gulf Coast area to rebuild their homes and lives following Hurricane Harvey. It’s been 3 months since the storm slammed into the coast and many families and businesses are still working hard to get back to normal. The Salvation Army and American Red Cross welcome donations as they help our neighbors still reeling from this summer’s hurricanes (Harvey, Irma and Maria).
Your charity of choice might involve the elderly, pets, the environment or cultural and performing arts groups. Whatever your area of interest – there is no better time to help others than a donation made on Giving Tuesday.
