Many holidays are noted on the calendar every year, but few are as important as World Wish Day. Celebrated on April 29 worldwide, it’s the anniversary of the day the first “wish kid”, Chris Greicius, was granted his wish of being a police officer for the day. Chris, who was 7 years old, was diagnosed with leukemia. Since his wish was granted, thousands of other youngsters facing medical challenges have also had their wishes come true.
“Moonshine Sweet Tea recognizes how important it is for children facing serious health issues to have a positive experience to help eliminate the stress and struggles they may be facing,” said Moonshine CEO Remmy Castillo.” Moonshine Sweet Tea is excited to have been part of World Wish Day festivities.”
A Walk for Wishes and World Wish Day celebration were held on Sunday, April 30, at Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio. The amusement park is specially designed to provide access to children with disabilities. In addition to “Wish Kids” and their families, Sar War characters and other action figures were part of the afternoon celebration. Moonshine Sweet Day works closely with the Make-A-Wish of Central and South Texas and is a national sponsor of Make-A-Wish.
